Recently I was cleaning up my library (future office), and found a book I hadn't seen for years! It's 'Color Me Beautiful' by Carole Jackson. Well, of course I started flipping through it and reading sections -- much more interesting than focusing on cleaning and organizing a room with over 10 years of piled up junk in it :-)

The book is based on the premise that there are palates of colors that we naturally look more beautiful in. The colors are divided into four categories: Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn. By the way, I'm a 'Winter'.

What does this have to do with fragrances, you say? A sentence that caught my eye as I was perusing the book -- "Even your perfume personality can emerge from your season".

So, if you want to explore perfumes based on your season, here's some guidelines of where you can begin:

Winters
Experiment with the strong and spicy scents; we often think of these fragrances as exotic. Winters have that bold shine to them. Visualize the rich, bold colors in the winter palate.

Summers
Explore the many classic and traditional types of floral scents, along with today's modern florals. Florals are a lovely match for the bright summer palate -- think clear blue skies and masses of vividly bright flowers.

Autumns
Enjoy the natural woody fragrances so characteristic of your palate. Picture a hike in the forest, especially in the fall with the hues of the changing colors of the trees. But it doesn't stop there for you -- dabble with fruity scents too. Just glance at the autumn palate and take in the scent of the richly hued bountiful harvest of apples, pumpkins, and pears.

Spring
Play with the sweet smelling fruity fragrances and floral scents that are fresh and light. Notice the lighter, fresher colors of the spring palate. Lively bright, clear and delicate.
